ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Wax up the skis because New Mexico's ski season is getting under way.
Sipapu ski area near Taos and Red River Ski Area have opened. Enchanted Forest Cross Country Ski, Snowshoe Area near Red River and Taos Ski Valley open Thanksgiving.
Ski Santa Fe operators had hoped to open on Thanksgiving Day, but the start of ski season has been put off until after the holiday and until more snow is on the ground.
Ski Apache near Ruidoso says on its Web site it plans to open on Thanksgiving weekend.
Angel Fire Resort is now scheduled to open on Dec. 12.
