VAIL, Colorado — Drinking water pipes in the Eagle River have been closed Tuesday in Edwards and Avon as a precaution after discolored water was discovered near Minturn in Colorado's Vail Valley.
Eagle River Water & Sanitation District says tap water is safe to drink and use and no shortages are expected.
The drinking water intakes have been closed as a precautionary measure as the water district monitors the situation to protect the water supply from Vail to Edwards.
