VAIL — A fundraiser for the Douglas family will be held at Sweet Basil in Vail at 7 p.m., Monday.

Chris Douglas is a sous chef at Sweet Basil and his wife, Kerri, is facing her second battle with breast cancer. Chris Douglas is the son of longtime locals Debbie and Drex, and grandson of Cathie and Morgan Douglas. Their insurance does not begin to cover the expenses of Kerri's treatments.

On Monday, Sweet Basil is opening its doors to help by donating 40 percent of each lunch and dinner check to the Douglas family. For reservations, call 970-476-0125.
