BOULDER, Colo. — Authorities say a University of Colorado student died after jumping from an overpass onto U.S. 36 and being struck by an SUV.
Boulder police say 22-year-old Transito "Tito" Eduardo Torres was severely injured by the fall and was lying on the ground when the SUV hit him at about 8:20 p.m. Thursday. The coroner's office has yet to issue a ruling on Torres' cause and manner of death.
Some of the SUV's passengers, including a child, were taken to a hospital to be treated for minor injuries.
CU officials say Torres was a senior studying women's studies who was expected to graduate in the summer.
