VAIL, Colorado - The weekend snow that brought periods of heavy snow to the Vail Valley left 10 inches on Vail Mountain in last the 48 hours and 8 to Beaver Creek.
Vail Mountain is now reporting a 23-inch base, with Beaver Creek reporting a 24-inch base. Twenty percent of the terrain on Vail Mountain is open, while 46 percent of Beaver Creek Mountain is open.
Snow is forecast is to continue until about lunchtime today and then taper off. Tuesday and Wednesday should be mostly sunny, the National Weather Service says.
The next chance for snow is Thursday through Saturday for the mountains north of the Interstate 70 corridor, the Weather Service says.
