What is with these outsiders telling Eagle residents how to live their lives? Recently, there have been letters to the editor from a gadfly in Sweetwater, a wannabe in Hawaii and a labor leader in Kansas City telling residents to vote against ERS.

In the final weeks of reviews, Jan Rosenthal submitted a letter to the trustees in which she claimed had more than 75 signatures of “Eagle area” businesses that opposed ERS. Scrutiny of that document revealed there were 22 typed names of businesses, many from out of area, with no signatures; there were 35 signatures of businesses in Edwards, Avon, Eagle-Vail and Vail — Eagle-area businesses? I don't think so. Most of these were from Riverwalk, where Jan has a store. Hmmm.

Some signatures of note: Allen Christensen, who signed as “Riverwalk attorney.” And here's one for you: three signatures by Jan Rosenthal and one by her husband. I guess if one is good, four is a lot better! This reminds me of the old, corrupt Tammany Hall political machine in New York that asked their supporters to “vote early and vote often.” Let the outsiders know you do not appreciate their interference in Eagle affairs and vote “yes” for ERS Jan. 5.
