VAIL VALLEY, Colorado — John, Paul, Ringo and George — four names that when said together, speak volumes in Colorado's Vail Valley and beyond.
The Beatles were one of the most beloved music groups on the planet and even today, their legacy lives on, nearly 50 years since they started making music in Liverpool, England. On Monday night, "Twist & Shout—The Ultimate Beatles Experience" will take the Vilar Performing Arts Center stage in Beaver Creek.
Twist & Shout is the definitive Beatles show, played by four musicians with an inherent understanding of why The Beatles will forever be one of the most respected rock bands in history. The performance takes the audience through all The Beatles' greatest hits, beginning in the early years of catchy tunes like “She Loves You” and “I Wanna Hold Your Hand,” to their later, more complex sounds of “Hey Jude” and “Come Together.”
Musicians Tony Kishman (on bass guitar) and Jim Owen (on rhythm guitar and keyboards) lead the band with powerful McCartney/Lennon duets. Both Kishman and Owen starred in the successful “Classical Mystery Tour,” a symphonic Beatles' concert, before joining the lineup in Twist & Shout. Kishman also starred in the national and international Broadway tours of “Beatlemania.” Joining Kishman and Owen on stage are John Brosnan as “George” and Chris Camilerri as “Ringo.” Adding to the authenticity of The Beatles' song renditions, Twist & Shout is colored with film clips from the '60s, immersing the audience in a life-like Beatles concert of yesteryear.
