VAIL — There is a chance for "significant snowfall" in the Vail area Thursday and Friday, the National Weather Service says.
Vail Mountain reported 5 inches of snow overnight and more than two feet in the last seven days. Beaver Creek reported 2 inches overnight.
Meanwhile, the rest of today and Wednesday may remain snowy — the Weather Service forecasts a 50 percent chance both days and into Wednesday night.
The Weather Service says another system will move in Wednesday night bringing a stronger chance of heavy snow during the end of the work week.
Vail Mountain is now reporting 172 inches of snow this season. The average snowfall for an entire season is 350 inches.
