VAIL VALLEY, Colorado — Nancy Moss, a 15-year resident of the Vail Valley, passed away on the afternoon of Feb. 18 at the Vail Valley Medical Center. Nancy's 10-year battle with multiple bouts of cancer ended abruptly when unexpected complications set in.
Those who knew and loved her may be comforted to know that she died peacefully and that she never gave up fighting for her passion that was life. Nancy's eternal optimism, sense of fun and ease of the way she connected with people infected and charmed nearly everyone she met.
Nancy grew up in Wilmette, Ill., and moved to Ohio to attend Ohio University, where she met her husband of 38 years, Mike Moss. Mike and Nancy lived in Columbus, Ohio while raising their three very special children, Matthew, Peter and Lindsey.
Nancy's success in the family real estate business led her into the title insurance business and on into mortgage loans. After moving to the Vail area, Nancy enjoyed helping people plan their vacations to Vail and pursued her dream of owning and operating a pizza/Italian restaurant in Eagle.
Nancy is survived, loved and missed by Mike, Matthew, Peter and Lindsey, all in Colorado; her mother Patricia Nicholis, father Don Nicholis, sister Dana Thachuk and brother Don Nicholis, in the Chicago area; sister Lita Curtis in Brentwood, Calif.; and very special aunt Kathy Moore in North Ft. Myers, Fla.
There will be a memorial service for Nancy at the Brush Creek Pavilion in Eagle on April 17. Donations to the Shaw Regional Cancer Center, P.O. 2559, Edwards, CO, 81632 would be sincerely appreciated.
