Harry Grabow, M.D., a renowned cataract specialist, examined patients at the Vail Valley's Eye Center of the Rockies in Eagle Feb. 19.
Grabow has authored and contributed chapters to 23 textbooks. He has taught cataract surgery in Russia, China, and Japan, and performed several FDA-monitored clinical trials of intraocular lenses, including the Crystalens for presbyopia, which he studied along with Dr. Matthew Ehrlich, owner of the Eye Center of the Rockies.
On his visit here, Dr. Grabow saw patients who have had cataract surgery using the TORIC lens to correct astigmatism, the multifocal lens to correct far and near vision and traditional cataract implant lenses.
The Eye Center of the Rockies is the Vail Valley's only dedicated ophthalmology (medical eye doctor) practice. Ehrlich, a staff member at Vail Valley Medical Center, performs cataract, corneal, and LASIK surgery, as well as providing routine eye exams for eyeglasses and contact lenses.
