VAIL — A storm expected to move into the Vail area Thursday night could leave up to 10 inches of snow on the ground by later in the day Friday.
Spring weather should continue during the day Thursday but snow could start Thursday night, with 1 to 3 inches of accumulation expected, the National Weather Service says.
Three to 7 inches could be added to that on Friday, the Weather Service says.
Snow should taper off Friday night and the weekend expected to be sunny and colder than it has been this week.
Vail Mountain has reported 3 inches of snow in the last seven days. Beaver Creek Mountain has reported 4.
With a month remaining of ski month, Vail Mountain has reported 223 inches this season. The mountain averages 350 inches a season.
