Vail's Samana Lounge hosts Robotic Pirate Monkey

Robotic Pirate Monkey have coined a signature bass-heavy style intermingled with touches of hip-hop, soul,-funk, disco, rock, reggae and much more. The trio will perform at Samana Lounge in Vail Wednesday.

RPM - a collaboration between Andrew Hathaway, Matt Berryhill and Matt Flesher - formed a year ago out of Boulder's dense electronic music scene.-The three producer/DJ's originally met through a passion for skiing.-It didn't take long, however, for them to recognize a common musical-style amongst themselves. RPM formed to embrace the synergy between each member. They have used this energy to create a kind of music that captures listeners in an fresh, distinct manner.-

RPM released their free debut EP "Disturbing Pleasant Streets" and in September of 2010, took electronic music lovers by surprise with-their songs "Jolene" and "Northface Giggles." Shortly after, RPM released a second free remix EP "Jungles Tales: Vol 1," where their remixes of-Bob Marley's 'Mr. Brown' and Foreigner's "Jukebox Hero" gave listeners what that they wanted to hear. RPM debuted there live presentation at the-legendary Fox Theatre in Boulder in December; the show nearly sold out.-

Since then RPM has played live in St. Louis, New Orleans and most recently at the Snowball Music Festival in Avon.
