BROOMFIELD, Colorado - Vail Resorts' EpicMix website and app has earned a "People's Voice" Webby award in the "Experimental and Innovation" category for mobile devices.
Founded in 1996, the Webbys are presented by The International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences, which includes an executive 750-member body of leading Web experts, business figures, luminaries and creative celebrities, former Webby Award winners and nominees and other Internet professionals.
The Academy includes musicians Beck and David Bowie, Internet inventor Vint Cerf, "The Simpsons" creator Matt Groening and Virgin Atlantic Chairman and Founder Richard Branson. Members also include writers and editors from The New York Times, Wired, Fast Company and Vibe.
The Webby Awards presents two honors in every category -- The Webby Award and The People's Voice Award. Users determine the winners of The People's Voice by voting for nominated work.
the Experimental and Innovation category, Airwalk shoes won the Webby. Other nominees in the category were the American Museum of Natural History Explorer, Remote Palette and Skifta.
