STEAMBOAT SPRINGS (AP) — Tour de France runner-up Andy Schleck has been training for Colorado's inaugural USA Pro Cycling Challenge in Steamboat Springs.
The Steamboat Springs Pilot & Today reports (http://bit.ly/phWtVX ) that Schleck arrived in the ski resort town last week to train, relax and acclimate.
On Monday, he led about 150 cyclists from the community on a ride around town. The 26-year-old from Luxembourg signed jerseys and water bottles and told the crowd that he's been enjoying fly-fishing and riding in Steamboat Springs.
Schleck's brother Frank as well as Tour de France winner Cadel Evans are also set to compete in the Pro Cycling Challenge, which starts Monday. Steamboat Springs will host the fourth and fifth stages of the race on Aug. 26 and 27.
