Bonfire Brewery bellies up for first anniversary celebration

Bonfire Brewery has been crafting its signature beers for a year now and its brewmeisters figure its time to celebrate.“Bonfire opened on Nov. 16th, 2010. We've tripled our production since maxing out our first brewing system this spring,” said Andy Jessen, co-founder and manager for the business. “Starting out in just our tap room in Eagle, we can now be found in restaurants throughout the Eagle Valley and will soon begin offering 22-ounce bottles for local liquor stores.”The Bonfire Brewery Anniversary Party is planned this Saturday, Nov. 19. Festivities will begin at noon and continue through until midnight.Two bands will be playing through the day including Pete & Justin, which features Hustle veterans Pete Haugh and Justin Ernest. Also slated to perform is Bonnie & the Beard, a fast-rising Denver band that plays a unique style of rock that they refer to as "gypsy folk rock."The party will get under way at noon when Bonfire will tap a keg of free beer. During the afternoon, there will be music and food from Moe’s Barbecue.“At 7 p.m., we will auction off one of our coveted ‘Mug Club’ mugs,” said Jensen. “These 20-ounce mugs are handmade by my mom for our mug club members. We have a waiting list of 70-plus people for the mug club.” At 7:15 Bonfire will mark its official tree lighting, turning on the the lights on the giant pine tree out front for the first time this year. At 8:30 p.m., Bonnie & the Beard will play.The anniversary event will also be a benefit for the Snowboard Outreach Society. A voluntary $5 cash donation, or an equipment donation, will get attendees a free pint plus access to all the other activities. All proceeds from the mug club auction will also go to SOS.For anyone interested in making an equipment donation rather than a cash one, SOS is in need of:• Snowboard bindings, particularly size large• Snowboards• Goggles• Helmets• Jackets
