Prepare for a ping-pong tournament of epic proportions when SPiN Galactic comes to Vail for two days this winter for a fundraiser benefitting the Vail Symposium.
"SPiN Galactic is a network of ping-pong social clubs, founded in New York City, and created by Susan Sarandon and partners with the intention of reimagining the way you experience the game," said SPiN co-owner Jonathan Bricklin.
Get in on the game, or just come to hang out and check out the action when SPiN co-owners Susan Sarandon and Jonathan Bricklin come to Vail this winter, armed with ping-pong instructors and their particular flair for mixing sophisticated night-life style with serious competition, bringing SPiN to the Sebastian Vail Jan. 26 and 27.
The two-day tournament will be comprised of four tiers, A and B tiers, and a singles and mixed doubles tiers. All ages and abilities are invited to enter. Sarandon will act as MC for the awards ceremony and two SPiN professionals will be on hand to give tips and show off in demonstration matches.
Auctions will accompany the matches, with items including premier tickets to Sarandon's latest movie "Jeff Who Lives at Home" and a party at SPiN New York. Ping pong tables and other SPiN souvenirs signed by Sarandon will available for purchase.
With SPiN locations around the globe, including New York, Milwaukee, Toronto, and St. Petersburg, the clubs have a loyal following of serious ping-pong aficionados, A-list celebrities, and common folk-alike. The clubs provide a unique place to hang out with your old friends, meet new ones, and play ping-pong while sipping a cocktail, or eating a snack, or perhaps watching a professional ping-pong match on SPiN's center court.
"From Woody Harrelson and Kim Kardashian to Mike Myers and Jaime Foxx, everyone is playing ping-pong. The once neglected basement game is now out of the closet and into the spotlight," Bricklin said.
As the second oldest non-profit in Vail, the Vail Symposium has touched thousands of lives with its rich and varied history.
