A memorial service will be held for Sgt. Robyn Sederburg Fetterolf at 5:30 p.m. today at the Vilar Center in Beaver Creek. The extended community is invited to celebrate her life. Robyn died Dec. 7 following a long battle with breast cancer. Robyn had served the Vail community as a police officer and patrol sergeant for more than 14 years. The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Madelyn Grace “Maddie” Fetterolf Scholarship fund at the Town of Vail. Checks should be written to Town of Vail with “Maddie Scholarship Fund” in the memo and sent to Town of Vail, 75 South Frontage Road, Vail, CO 81657.

Friends of Paula Zander will gather at 5:30 at e-town on Dec. 23 to remember her. Paula passed away in October at her home in Springfield, Mo. She had spent many winters teaching skiing at Beaver Creek. Her summers were spent in a variety of activities from teaching children in Springfield to building her own home. Please join us to toast, celebrate and remember!

The duo will perform favorite Christmas classics and original Christmas songs written by Hamilton.

Help a neighbor

As many of you know, Chris and Gary Scrip's house caught on fire Dec. 3 on Bellyache Ridge at Wolcott. Luckily, they are both fine, along with their cat. Their house, however, will need major repair. They are unable to reside there until the repair work has been finished. They are in between the cleanup and insurance claim.

It is a lot for them to juggle right now, and they are trying to clean up the mess that was left behind. Many of you have asked what you can do to help, and right now we could help the most if we came together and made a donation. If you would like to make a donation, please contact U.S. Bank in Edwards and deposit your donation in the “Gary Scrip Catastrophe Fund.” Please also email Mary Ann Metternick to let her know that you have done so and she will send them a card with all of the donors' names.
