Eagle names marketing board members

First came the money, now comes the people who will spend it.

Or, at least, the people who will recommend how to spend it.

Tuesday night the Eagle Town Board appointed six members to its newly created Marketing and Events Advisory Committee. The volunteer committee will be an advisory group for the Eagle Town Board regarding how to spend the funds generated by the $2 per room, per night lodging occupation fee approved by the voters last November. The money is earmarked for marketing efforts in town.

Town board member Scot Webster will be the board's representative on the marketing committee. Tuesday night the board appointed the other six members:

• Lonnie Leto, AmericInn Lodge and Suites

• Jan Miller, Eagle County Facilities

• Sheryl Staton, Western Eagle County Metropolitan Recreation District

• Erin Vega, Eagle Ranch

• Pam Boyd, Eagle Valley Enterprise

• Holly Snyder, NRC Broadcasting

Additionally, the town named Kim Sharkey as the alternate committee member.

Eagle Town Manager Willy Powell said he as launched the interview process for the part-time Marketing and Event Coordinator position. The coordinator will work with the committee to plan and execute special events and a marketing program for Eagle. Powell said he had received 37 applications for the job.
