VAIL, Colorado — Vail police are investigating sexual assault accusations leveled against three Denver teens.
The three students attend Kent Denver School, a private school for grades 6-12.
The incident reportedly happened New Year's Day and is being investigated by Vail police.
No charges have been filed and no names will be released since the suspects and the accuser are all minors, said Vail Police Sgt. Chris Bodkins.
“We have an open investigation and all the people involved are all juveniles,” Bodkins said.
When Vail police finished their investigation, the case will be turned over to the District Attorney's office.
Kent Denver is one of Colorado's most prestigious private schools. It has 674 students, according to its website.
The school's administration also declined comment, citing the students' ages.
The school provided this written statement to Front Range media:
“We have been contacted about an active investigation of an event that apparently occurred over the winter holiday break in Vail. Kent Denver students may have been involved, but as this was over vacation, was not part of any Kent Denver School program, and includes minors, the school cannot comment."
