Business tidbits
On Tuesday at 1 p.m., via UPS, some shirts and sweaters arrived from the distribution warehouse in N.Y.C. — Alex Cannon Spring items, shirts and sweaters I had ordered six months ago. My wife, Faith, and our sales assistant, Sandra, gave thumbs-up for all of the goods which came in, and those items were put on shop display by 3 p.m. at Brush Creek Dry Goods in the Riverwalk at Edwards. However, there was one shirt which the girls gave thumbs-down on. They had reservations about this particular shirt and put it on a lower shelf. It was an off-white paisley, soft printed men's shirt, which I immediately put on a mannequin when I entered the store, and I said that it was denim-friendly and an item which would be one of the first to go.At 3 p.m., a local bartender from the Gashouse came into the store and asked what's new. I pointed out those items which were new to the store. He purchased the Alex Cannon paisley shirt, which was the shirt in question. Thumbs-up on that shirt and a tidbit of business transaction here in the Vail Valley. — Raymond and Faith, Brush Creek Dry Goods.
