The fifth annual Energy Smart Colorado Western Slope Home Show returns to the 55,000-square-foot Eagle River Center at the Eagle County Fairgrounds Friday and Saturday.The largest high-country home and garden show kicks off Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. and continues Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.Energy Smart Colorado Western Slope Home Show 2012 is the place to learn all about the latest in home and lifestyle innovations. Highlights of this year's show include: • Energy Smart Colorado - Home show attendees can sign up for home energy assessments for $25, instead of the normal $50 price. John-Ryan Lockwood, with Energy Smart Colorado, said, "Energy Smart Colorado will help homeowners with ideas on how to make their homes more energy efficient, and to decrease their utility bills. We not only give them ideas on what to do, but get them in touch with the contractors that will help them get the job done."• Wine & Design - Sponsored by American Furniture Warehouse from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, watch as two interior designers square off in a design competition, with two identical living room furniture sets donated by American Furniture Warehouse and $500 in creative funds. Two lucky home show attendees will take home the entire contents of the two design rooms.• E-Waste Recycling - Eagle Valley Alliance for Sustainability, in partnership with Metech, will provide an electronic recycling station between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday, April 28. Electronic waste may be dropped off at the door with a nominal recycling fee.Look for the electronic sign just south of Eagle Interstate 70 exit for directions to the Home Show. Plenty of free on-site parking is available. A $2 suggested donation at the door will benefit Habitat for Humanity Vail Valley.
