VAIL - Work up a healthy appetite, indulge in fine gourmet food and give back to your community, all at the same time on July 8, as the Vail Valley Foundation introduces the inaugural Trek to Table benefit hike and dining event on Arrowhead and Beaver Creek Mountains.
Benefitting the Vail Valley Foundation, Trek to Table will include a nine-mile hike, with guides from the Beaver Creek Hiking Center, from Arrowhead to Beaver Creek, with varying routes and degrees of difficulty. Along the way, participants will be treated to a gourmet trail feast, with dining stops at four of the prestigious private cabins and restaurants that dot the route.
"Trek to Table is a wonderful opportunity to combine a great day of hiking and beautiful scenery with a full day of incredible food, all for a terrific cause," said Ceil Folz, president of the Vail Valley Foundation. "Not only can you have a great outdoor outing, but you can make a significant contribution to our community in the process, in essence feeding both the body and the soul."
The day will begin at 7:30 a.m., with breakfast at the Broken Arrow Restaurant at the base of Arrowhead Mountain. Mid-morning refreshments will be served at Zach's Cabin, while lunch will be provided at Beano's Cabin on Beaver Creek Mountain. Trek to Table will conclude with apres at Allie's Cabin.
Tickets for Trek to Table are priced at $200 each and can be purchased online at www.vvf.org by clicking on the Events icon and going to Membership Events. The first 200 participants will also receive a complimentary High Sierra Wave 50 Hydration Pack.
