Friday, June 22, from 8:30 to 11 p.m.

Famed Colorado guitar man Chris Daniels and his band of some 27 years, The Kings, will rock Eagle Town Park Friday night bringing the band's trademark horn-infused sound.

New Shoes

Saturday, June 23, from 5:30 to 8 p.m.

A locals' favorite band that plays soulful blues and rock and roll features Ray Merry, Dawn Poff, Brett Gould and Mike Peters.

Hot Posse

Saturday, June 23, from 8:30 to 11 p.m.

Back by popular demand, this high-energy variety band covers everything from classic rock to blues and funk with strong rhythm and tight harmony.

Pet Show

When: Friday, June 22

Time: 5 p.m.

Where: Eagle Town Park

Details: Local kids are invited to bring their pets - anything furry, feathery, scaly or slimy. A slew of prices are awarded, including best costume.

Baby Contest

When: Friday, June 22

Time: 5 p.m.

Where: Eagle Town Park

Details: This contest is for babies ages 2 and younger. Ribbons and prizes will be awarded in the following categories:

• Biggest eyes

• Best smile

• Best hair

• Most vocal

• Chubbiest feet

• Biggest dimples

• Baby/relative look-alike

• Best swimwear

• Best Flight Days theme costume

Babies can only win once per category, but may compete in any or all of the categories.

What: Eagle Valley Lions Club will serve up their signature flapjacks.

Flight Days Parade

Theme: How Sweet It Is!

When: Saturday, June 23

Time: 10 a.m. start. Parade participants should begin lining up at 9 a.m. and the parade judging is at 9:30 a.m.

Where: Line up is at Fifth Street and the parade marches down Broadway between Fifth and Second Streets.

What: Patriotic music concert performance by the 22-member Colorado Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9644 Band based in Denver

Vintage Girl Scout Uniform Fashion Show

What: Girl Scouts of America are celebrating their 100th anniversary this year and local Scouts are serving as the Eagle Flight Days parade marshals. The fashion show will feature Girl Scout uniforms through the decades.

Time: 11:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.

Kids Craft Tent

What: Free craft activity tent

Time: Immediately following the parade until the supplies run out.

Magic Show

What: A performance by the Magic Traveling Medicine Show featuring Jim Wright

When: Saturday, June 23

Time: 1 p.m.

Horseshoe Tournament

When: Saturday, June 23, and Sunday, June 24

Time: Immediately after the parade on Saturday for singles competition and 9 a.m. on Sunday for doubles competition

Where: Eagle Town Park horseshoe pits

Cookie Bake Off

What: In honor of Girl Scouts' favorite treat, bake your best cookie recipe for this event.

When: Saturday, June 23

Time: Noon to 2 p.m.

Where: Eagle Town Park

Details: Provide enough for 100 small tastings and serving supplies will be provided. Tasters will vote for their favorites and first, second and third-place trophies will be awarded. For information contact Sarah at 328-6354 or

Basketball Shootout

What: Basketball shooting contest for kids ages 9 to 15 years

When: Saturday, June 25

Time: 3 to 4:30 p.m.

Where: Eagle Town Park basketball court

Details: Register prior to the contest start time. Prizes will be awarded.

Blooper Ball

What: Co-ed softball contest with relaxed rules. Teams are encouraged to dress up in costumes reflecting the Flight Days theme and the best dressed squad will win a prize.

When: Saturday, June 23

Time: 1 p.m.

Where: Bull Pasture Park in Eagle.

Details: Cost is $5 per team and a minimum of four teams must register for the tournament to proceed. Register by contacting WECMRD at the Eagle Pool or by calling 328-5277 or come by the Bull Pasture Park before 1 p.m. Each team must have at least 10 players with five males and five females and players must be at least 14 years old. The first place team wins $500, the second place team wins $250.


What: Come one, come all and demonstrate your singing skills

When: Saturday, June 23

Time: 4:30 to 5:45 p.m.

Where: Eagle Town Park

Details: Karaoke master Jacque Laman's set up features thousands of selections and a song list will be available. Sign up at the stage when the karaoke music begins. All ages are welcome.

Run for the Future

What: 10K run and 5K run/walk

When: Sunday, June 24

Time: 7:30 a.m. for the 5K run/walk

8:15 a.m. for 10K run

9:15 a.m. for 1K fun run

Where: Race start and registration is at Fourth and Broadway. The race course loops through Eagle Ranch.

Details: Hosted by the Eagle Valley High School Foundation and the Western Eagle Valley Rotary Club, the race honors the memory of Jake Brock and raises money for high school scholarships. Pre-register at Alpine Bank in Eagle. Pre-registration cost is $20.12. Registration opens at 6:30 a.m. on race day and costs $20.12. Registration is accepted up to 20 minutes prior to each scheduled event. All participants receive an event T-shirt and are eligible for door prizes. Must be present to win.

Yoga in the Park

What: Free yoga class for all abilities

When: Sunday, June 24

Time: 9 a.m.

Where: Eagle Town Park

Details: While the instructors will donate their time for the class, donations will be accepted. All proceeds for Yoga in the Park will go towards Roundup River Ranch.

Talent Show

What: Competition for kids ages 2 years to high school seniors

When: Sunday, June 24

Time: Registration begins at 11 a.m. and ends at 11:45 a.m. The show starts at noon.

Where: Centennial Stage at Eagle Town Park

Details: Competition divisions include:

• Preschool to age 6

• Ages 7-9

• Ages 10-13

• Ages 14-17

Cash prizes for top three finishers in each category.

What: Juniors doubles grass volleyball tournament hosted by the Eagle Valley High School Volleyball Team

When: Sunday, June 24

Time: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Where: Bull Pasture Park

Details: Prizes will be awarded for the top two teams in each division. Registration fee is $40 per team and registration is due by Sunday, June 24 at 8 a.m. Contact to get a registration form. Check in starts at 8 a.m.
