The authors are coming! The authors are coming! The Avon Library is providing us with a wonderful opportunity and it's no too late to get tickets.
At Books in Bloom (http://booksinbloom.cvlsites.org/) next Saturday, the 30th, you can spend the afternoon (it starts at 2 so you can still have a lovely hike in the cool of the morning) with three authors, as many appetizers as you want and your friends (cash bar) all for $50.
It doesn't matter if you've read the books or not. The authors will tell you about them, and afterward you can buy copies and get them signed. They make terrific presents, too.
The three authors, Jennifer Haigh ("Faith," "Mrs. Kimble," "The Condition," among others), Tatjana Soli ("The Lotus Eaters"), and Erin Blakermore ("The Heroine's Bookshelf") have stacked up an impressive list of awards and The New York Times Best Sellers List positions between them.
And they're coming to our valley to talk to you.
I've found author talks to be insightful, thought-provoking and sometimes incredibly funny.
These people are talented and what a blast to hear them speak for an entire afternoon - especially in a beautiful, intimate atmosphere like The Pines in Beaver Creek.
So get your tickets, online (also at the door) and treat yourself to a great afternoon.
