Moroles has been very active with his art since the late 1970s and quickly became one of the master sculptors of his generation. His work has been recognized with numerous awards and grants, which have heightened the popularity of his work and pushed Moroles to go bigger and bigger. His most visible sculpture was a commission from CBS, called "Lapstrake," located in Manhattan, N.Y. in the CBS plaza, near the Museum of Modern Art. His largest single work lies in his home state of Texas and is entitled "Houston Police Officers Memorial." His work can be found in Corporate and Public collections world wide as well as being showcased in a countless number for solo and group exhibitions throughout his career. His sculptures "Granite Landscape" will be dedicated in Ford Park in Vail on Saturday.

Moroles will attend tonight's opening in Beaver Creek, and will be available to sign copies of his book, "Granite Sculpture." He is bringing a few more of his smaller scale sculptures to display at the gallery, as well.

"This is a great opportunity to meet one of the most brilliant granite sculptors of our time and see his work up close," Cotter said.
