VAIL - If you visited the Vail Farmers Market this past Sunday, you might have heard a symphony of screechy violins, horns and drums. While it may not have had the dynamic contrast and rhythmic drive quite like the Bravo Festival's current orchestra in residence, the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, that's because it was a group of young musicians experimenting with real orchestral instruments.
This week, as part of the Festival's free community programs, Little Listeners @ the Library will bring music to life in a kid-friendly presentation for children ages 3 through 7. A Dallas Symphony Orchestra String Quintet will perform Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Avon Library. The quintet regularly presents a lively and interactive introduction to music for children of all ages.
"This is a performance not to miss," said Liz Campbell, Bravo's education director. "They have a long-standing reputation for providing children with educational performances."
In its 25th Anniversary Season, Bravo looks forward to a summer filled with music by the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, The Philadelphia Orchestra, The New York Philharmonic, Big Music for Little Bands and 50 solo and chamber artists.
