Vail Vitality Center kicks off program with yoga event

VAIL - The Vitality Center at Vail Mountain Lodge and Spa is launching its signature 40 Days to Personal Transformation program this week with a visit from world traveling yoga teacher Gina Caputo. Earth, Water and Fire: Fearless Transformation with Gina Caputo features two of her trademark yoga workshops, which incorporate themes of nature and emphasize personal change.

On Friday night, Caputo leads "Holy Hip Openers" from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., a rejuvenating practice incorporating the earth and water elements and their energetic association with the hips. This hip opening practice invites release of stuck patterns in the physical and emotional body, and will end with an extended Yoga Nidra, or deep relaxation. It is suitable for all-levels of practitioner.

Saturday morning Caputo focuses on the fire element for her Ignited Vinyasa practice, a class designed to stoker internal heat through playful core strengthening and arm balancing to dissolve self-limiting beliefs. This practice is best suited to injury-free practitioners.

"Caputo is one of the best yoga teachers out there. Her approachable manner instills an incredible confidence in every student lucky enough to end up in her class," said Yoga Director Julia Clarke.

Caputo is a California native and student of Shiva Rea. She was one of the original owners of Exhale Spa in Venice, Calif. and recently sold her studio Kansas Siddhi Yoga after eight years to relocate to Boulder. From her new home in the Rockies, she travels and teaches extensively throughout the world. Learn more at www.ginacaputo.com

These workshops are $25 with advance sign-up, $30 at the door, or $40 for both. For information, or to register, visit www.vailvitalitycenter.com or call 970-476-7960.
