AVON - Vin48 switches gears this week by showcasing the craft beer of Odell Brewing Co. at the restaurant/wine bar's weekly tasting Wednesday.
"We are just as passionate about craft beer at vin48 as we are about wine," said Greg Eynon, the owner and beverage director. "We are lucky to live in state with an abundance of great breweries and Odell Brewing Co. of Fort Collins is at the top of the list."
Odell beers to be poured include Pond Hopper Double Extra Pale Ale, Odell IPA, St. Lupulin Extra Pale Ale and the Cutthroat Porter.
Founded in 1989, Odell Brewing was started by Doug Odell, his wife Wynne, and his sister Corkie. Twenty-three years later, the culture of family and collaboration still thrives, fostering a brewery full of beer-centric people. It is this passion for beer that inspires Odell
Regional Sales Manager, Brian Dillon will pour four of his favorite Odell craft beers, including the very limited Pond Hopper Double Extra Pale Ale.
Doug Odell's admiration for the British brewing culture led him across the pond - a lot. In 2008, Doug landed at Thornbridge Brewery and in the company of kindred brewing spirits. This visit led to a collaboration brew at Thornbridge in 2010. Fast forward to 2012 to find the two breweries at it again, this time at Odell Brewing. Pond Hopper Double Extra Pale Ale is the love child of this international brew-mance.
Vin48 chef-owner Charles Hayes will pair the beers with appetizers on the restaurant's patio. The event is part of vin48's summer tasting series, which takes place every Wednesday from 5 to 6:30 p.m. on vin48's patio. Vin48 serves wines from visiting winemakers, importers, breweries and industry insiders and pairs them with Hayes' cuisine. All of the beers served are available for purchase at discounted prices from Beaver Liquors in Avon.
