Minturn Market hosts fairy house building, live music and more

The Minturn Market continues Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The market is the valley's largest, with more than 115 vendors.

This week's special event kicks off with bike day. From 9 to 9:45 a.m. kids should bring their decorated bikes to Minturn for a bike decorating contest. There will also be free bike safety pamphlets. Minturn's Mountain Peddler is having a 20 percent off sale. Stop by the shop for details.

Continue the morning with fairy house building from 10 to 11:30 a.m. The fee is $10 per person and all ages are welcome. This event is brought to you by Minturn business Gemini Gardens. The first series of fairy garden building filled up fast so register early.

Listen to live music by Kraig Kenning today. Call him contemporary folk, blues, roots rock, American fingerstyle or Americana. Regardless of the genres crossed, Kenning manages to leave every audience feeling like they've just spent some quality time with an old friend. His electrifying stage presence has been honed over 20 years as a live performer throughout the U.S. At National Guitar's 1st Annual Slide Competition, he took first place honors as "Best Unsigned Artist." He has opened for Mick Taylor of the Rolling Stones, and slide guitar master Sonny Landreth; and he has shared lineups with club and folk series favorites such as John Gorka and Patti Larkin.

Austin Family Farms will host a free canning demonstration from 11:30 a.m. until the peaches run out.
