Bodhimarga and the Edwards Buddhist Sangha presents a Buddhist film series, which will screen "A Zen Life," a documentary film about D.T. Suzuki, the man who is credited with introducing Zen Buddhism to the west. The film will be shown on July 27 at 6:30 p.m. at the Eagle County Ambulance District Building's Community Classroom, 1055 Edwards Village Blvd. (behind the Edwards post office). Venerable Tenzin Priyadarshi will lead a question-and-answer session after the 77-minute film. Movie and refreshments are free to the public, but donations are always appreciated.A Buddhist retreat with Priyadarshi, "Cultivating a Kind Heart," will take place on July 28 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and July 29 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Riverwalk Inn Conference Hall in Edwards. The retreat will focus on "The Eight Verses of Thought Transformation" and the "Medicine Buddha Prayers for Healing." Participants will learn about profound practices that allow inner reflection to deepen their wisdom and transform unhappiness and daily frustrations into a path of fundamental freedom and unconditional love.This retreat is for beginners and advanced students alike and will be a combination of teaching, meditation, mantra recitation and time for Q&A.
