Top Vail Valley restaurants are preparing their best dishes for the sixth annual Valley Tastings: Food for Youth, a benefit for Eagle River Youth Coalition's (ERYC) collaborative youth and family services. The event takes place Thursday from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at the Edwards Interfaith Chapel and Community Center and will include samplings of appetizers, entrees, desserts, wine and local beer.
This year's participating restaurants include: The Gore Range Brewery, Dish!, Main Street Grill, Marko's, Ristorante Ti Amo, Batter Cupcakes, The Met, Home Chefs of Vail, Old Kentucky Tavern, Ripe and Fiesta's. Crazy Mountain Brewery and Avon Liquors will showcase beverages.
"Enjoy tastings from renowned local chefs while supporting critical local youth and family services," said Michelle Stecher, the executive director. "Live entertainment by local favorite Pat Hamilton, an exceptional silent auction, and youth leadership awards will round out the evenings' events."
What's on the menu
Chef Jordan of Home Chefs of Vail will serve braised confit short ribs with kabocha squash puree, bacon, wild mushrooms and brussels sprouts with a red wine demi glaze. Dish! will serve laughing bird shrimp tacos with jicama slaw. Batter Cupcakes will provide dessert.
