Vail's 'LoveFest' comes to town this week

VAIL - It's time for toasting to life, love and romance as Vail Restaurant Month celebrates its final week, "LoveFest" Monday through Oct. 14. All week long and into the weekend, it's date night every night, as Vail's top resorts and restaurants offer sizzling experiences and memory-making events for friends, family, singles and couples. "We created the four themed weeks of Vail Restaurant Month to celebrate all Vail has to offer in its spectacular fall season," said event co-founder Ilene Rapkin, "and that includes collaborating with our partners to present unforgettable moments and a truly diverse calendar of themed events. LoveFest Week, the grand finale, is all about sharing and appreciating our wonderful Vail culinary community with the people who are most important in our lives."On Friday, La Tour's Chef Paul Ferzacca and Domaine Chandon wine guru Ellen Flora join together to present a five-course culinary extravaganza. This LoveFest feast will pair fine wine and cuisine, including world-class Napa wines and Colorado-sourced delicacies. For reservations, call La Tour at 970-476-4403.The array of LoveFest highlights listed on the event calendar at www.VailRestaurantMonth.com include "That's Amore!", a classic Italian family-style dinner at Campo de Fiori, "R&R," a luxurious spa and romantic dinner package at the Four Seasons, themed dinners and menus at Larkspur, Tavern on the Gore, Alpenrose, Flame, BOL, Ore House, Terra Bistro, Matsuhisa, Elway's, Ludwig's, Vail Chophouse, and a "Date Night for Beer Lovers" at the Tavern on the Square at the Arrabelle.An innovative "Deconstructing Champagne" tasting event at 5 p.m. on Friday at the King's Club at the Sonnenalp features toile methode champenoise sparkling in a taste sensation exploration of what makes champagne fabulous. The "Deconstructing Champagne" event is $44 per person and includes food and wine pairings. The party will feature Newton wines and Domaine Chandon premium bubbly, as well as appetizers donated by Block 16 at the Sebastian and Campo de Fiori.
