GYPSUM - It was Senior Night at Hot Stuff Stadium, as the Eagle Valley Devils soccer team was able to triumph over the Palisade Bulldogs, 3-1, on two goals from Irving Daniel, on Tuesday night.-

Seniorsas Luis Fernando Ruiz, Enrique Amancio Munoz, Giovanni Novella, Noe Rosales, Alex Villegas, Alex Montes Robledo, Brandon Cano, Isaac Sandoval, Aaron Dominguez, Jaisel Chavira amd Josh Leiva played in their last home soccer game.-

It started off quickly for the Bulldogs, as midfielder Spencer Jackson was able to beat all of the Devils defenders and put in the back of the onion bag to give Palisade an early 1-0 lead. That goal didn't seem to faze the Devils in any way as they were able to score four minutes later. Scoring for the Devils was Daniel as he laced one into the net, making the score 1-1. The success would only build for Eagle Valley because in the 27th minute junior Alan Caraveo was able to slam it home from about 25 yards out increasing the Devils' lead to 2-1.-

With the Devils leading the Bulldogs 2-1 at the half Palisade coach Drake Jandreau had a few things to tell his team.

"We needed a lot more productivity, that white (the Devils) were out-hustling us, out playing us," said Jandreau.-

Late into the second half, the Devils were able to notch another goal, scoring again for Eagle Valley was Daniel, coming in the 69th minute.

Eagle Valley coach Bratzo Horruitiner had some good words to say about the contribution of his seniors this year.

"They put a lot of heart and a lot of soul to this team," said Horruitiner. "They were really important pieces to this team, especially on building the team spirit. They're really good and tough guys. They were all good friends."-

The Devils talked about their mind sets for the game and memories from this season.

"This was a great season, great team and we did pretty good," said Novella.

"We are all just one big happy family, one big soccer family and that's what I enjoyed most about the season," said Cano.

"Thank you to all of my teammates. You guys made this my best year," said Novella.-
