On Oct. 18, an Eagle Police officer responded to a report of a suspicious person outside a townhome development in town. When they arrived they found a man attempting to hide underneath a tree in the area.
When asked what he was doing, the man admitted he was trying to hide from the police. He told the officers, "I am sick of everything I do."
The police report noted the man had watery, bloodshot eyes and was wearing ripped pants and only one shoe. He also smelled of alcohol and his left knee was bleeding from a scrape. He smelled of alcohol. When asked what happened to his shoe, he said he had lost it "a long time ago."
The person who called the police did not want to pursue charges, but she wanted the man to leave the area. The officer transported the man to his home where he was released to his brother.
Eagle Police were called to City Market Oct. 18 on a shoplifting complaint.
When he arrived, the officer spoke with store security personnel who said the reported theft had been recorded on video. When the security officer contacted the suspect, she refused to return to the store. The Eagle officer was able to contact the suspect at the store parking lot.
The officer brought the suspect back inside where she confessed that she had taken a bottle of Dove Everyday Body Mist Spray valued at $4.52. She said her belongings may have been stolen while she was in jail and she was trying to get to Grand Junction with some friends.
She was issued a ticket for the theft.
