Bring your nonperishable food donations Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. to your local grocery store. When the CME van is full, we'll distribute the food to the many groups and shelters that help those in need.
The most important items are canned soups and vegetables, peanut butter, macaroni and cheese, dried beans, rice and cereal. In Eagle County, donations will go to the Salvation Army's pantry. Local grocery stores participating include City Market, Walmart, Village Market and Columbine Market.
I would like to say thank you to the man in the silver suburban standing behind me in line at Comcast. He heard that we fell on hard times and paid our bill that we were unable to pay. In a cruel world, especially cruel to my family lately, we give our gratitude and our promise that we will pay it forward. Sincerely, thank you - Lauren, Barret and family.
