What goods or service do you provide? The Organizer provides organization of a home, an office, a garage, a single closet, a single kitchen, whatever a client needs. I can also provide oversight/coordination of moving into a new home, or after a remodel when everything is where no one can find it! And I charge very reasonably!
What strategy do you use to differentiate your business from your competition: I give encouragement and explanation as to why eliminating items is extremely necessary to free up one's space and actually our minds. Cluttered surroundings equals a cluttered and stressed mind.
What philosophy do you follow in dealing with your customers? What can your customers expect from you? Sensitivity in the process of organizing their personal space and possessions. I will, to repeat, encourage them to give away, throw away, or do what is necessary to have an organized and tidy surroundings but understand obviously that some things must stay. Believe it or not, when the space is tidy and one can find things when needed, it gives a sense of freedom and a burden is lifted. Clutter and disorganization can also contribute to inefficiency in all that we do.
Tell us a little about your background, education and experience: I do believe I inherited this gift of organization from my father, who started out as a farmer in Minnesota but later went into real estate and insurance. I grew up in an orderly home so this comes naturally.
My work experience has been primarily in office management so of course, organizing is a given. However, I have also been a organizer/coordinator of projects, with the largest event being the celebration of Jerusalem, Israel on its 3,000th birthday. I organized and coordinated travelers, gospel music concerts, and special events for dignitaries while there. I just find it a challenge, lots of fun, and very rewarding to help others get things in order and I love working with people.
What is the most humorous thing that has happened in your business since opening? This may not be all that humorous, but once I get started with a client and point out to them the need to give away and redo, they are amazed at how quickly it can change their surroundings and how different it feels. They sort of breathe a sigh of relief.
