In support of Colorado Mountain College's Common Reader program, author and Colorado Poet Laureate David Mason will talk about his book, "Ludlow," on Wednesday at the Edwards campus. "Ludlow" tells the story of immigrant workers in southern Colorado in the early 1900s and the strike that led to the Ludlow Massacre. As a special treat just for the Edwards campus, local musician Dave Perron will perform mining songs, starting at 6 p.m. Perron plays all over the valley as lead singer and guitarist of the group Laughing Bones. The event kicks off at 6 p.m. with Perron and continues with the author talk at 7 p.m. A book signing will follow. It is free and open to the public! Colorado Mountain College is located at 150 Miller Ranch Road in Edwards. For more information, call 970-569-2900.

New VPAC volunteers are needed to scan tickets for each performance. Scan and then stay for the show! Contact Charlotte at cmintz@vvf.org or 970-748-6642 for more information. Photo by Zach Mahone.

Carol and Jerry Kokes, of Eagle, are happy to announce the birth of their first great-grandson, Ivan Thomas Kokes.
