More snow, more terrain at Vail, Beaver Creek

EAGLE COUNTY, Colorado - The snow continues to fall on Vail Mountain, with an additional 8 inches of powder greeting skiers and snowboarders on the slopes Tuesday morning and plenty more on the way.

Riva Bahn Express Lift (No. 6) and Highline Express Lift (No. 10) will open Wednesday, Vail Mountain said.

The new snow is making for great conditions on the mountain and on Wednesday skiers and snowboarders will have access to more than 1,400 acres of terrain and the following lifts:

• Gondola One.

• Avanti Express Lift (No. 2).

• Wildwood Express Lift (No. 3).

• Mountaintop Express Lift (No. 4).

• Riva Bahn Express Lift (No. 6).

• Game Creek Express Lift (No. 7).

• Born Free Express Lift (No. 8).

• Highline Express Lift (No. 10).

• Northwoods Express Lift (No. 11).

• Gopher Hill Lift (No. 12).

• Sourdough Express Lift (No. 14).

• Little Eagle Lift (No. 15).

• Eagle Bahn Gondola.

• Cascade Lift (No. 20).

Bwana terrain park will open Saturday morning.

In addition to the new snow and terrain on tap this week, Adventure Ridge is now open offering tubing, kids' snowmobiling, bungee trampolines and ski biking. For more information or reservations, call (970) SKI-VAIL (754-8245).

Beaver Creek up to 826 acres

Mother Nature generously provided 14 inches of new snow in the past four days including 4 inches overnight and it has snowed seven of the last nine days at Beaver Creek. The resort's acreage jumped to 826 acres or 45 percent of its terrain, 66 trails and is operating 21 of 25 lifts. The Beaver Creek mountain operations team anticipates opening more terrain this weekend.
