Vail official report: 8 inches in last 24 hours, 2 inches overnight.
Vail Daily field report: 4 inches on top of groomed surfaces, 8 inches or more in less traveled areas
Liftline status: Not bad at all for a powder day, at 9 a.m. no lines on chairs 2 and 3, Chair 4 maze about one fourth of the way full
Weather: Cold and cloudy. There's some snow flurries falling, but not so much that your face is wet by the end of your run like yesterday.
Run of the Day: The surface on upper Berries feels amazing as it was groomed before a decent amount of the new snow came down.
Breakdown: Yesterday kept getting better and better as the day went on due to the snow that was falling all day. After the hill closed, it continued to snow, making it a powder lover's paradise out here this morning. There's plenty of the soft stuff out here, but Vail had the cats out in all the right spots so you don't have to worry about getting stuck on the catwalks. The hill's in really good shape right now and the liftlines aren't so bad at all considering the snow and the season.
Snowcast: NOAA says there's actually at 100 percent chance of snow for today, so far they're right as the flurries are falling at Vail. But as of yet it's not a dense storm like we saw yesterday. There's also a 90 percent chance for tomorrow.
