Band heralds 'the end of the world'

As many of you know, the Mayan calendar is due to expire. As you can see, most of the dinky little Incans in the Eagle region have vanished in advance of the end of the calendar, er, I mean the end of the WORLD.

Some folk with too much time on their hands really believe that this is it and the world as we know it will end on Dec. 21. Even though you don't even know me, I'm hoping we can meet in Eagle on that last fateful day and behave like there is no tomorrow.

I'll meet you at the Brush Creek Saloon at 241 Broadway St. at 9 p.m. on the 21st. I will bring two very good friends of mine who are spectacular musicians to herald in the end with a couple of sing-alongs from the Woodstock generation.

It will only be a party if you come. I'm not leaving my comfy confines and friends in Carbondale on the last day of planet Earth only to cry into my beer alone. Bring whatever friends you've got, and if things don't turn out as expected, it's not the end of the world.
