Vail official report: 5 inches in last 24 hours, 3 inches overnight.
Vail Daily field report: 2 feet or more on the newly opened Chair 10 terrain.
Liftline status:-Large crowd of more than 100 at Chair 6 at 8:30 a.m., Chair 10 maze half full at 9 a.m.-Half maze at Chair 4 at 9:30 a.m., nothing at Chairs 3 and 11.
Run of the day: Highline.
Weather: Very cold today, currently snowing, with low visibility
Breakdown: On a powder day that also saw the opening-of-chairs 6 and 10, the east side of the mountain was the place to be this morning. Large crowds formed at-chairs 6 and 10-and the terrain on-Blue Ox, Highline and Roger's Run became tracked out pretty quick, but the snow is soft on those runs and patches of powder-will still be abundant in places there all day.-But with-3 inches overnight at 5 inches in the-last 24 hours, the rest of the mountain is great, as well,-and with the crowds distracted on the east side of Vail your favorite Lionshead runs-and stash spots-are sure to be wonderful.
Snowcast: More in the forecast for today and this evening, and then-it should dry out for a few days before Christmas. ---
