Specialty Sports Venture, Vail Resorts raise money for Foresight

BROOMFIELD, Colorado - For the last 14 years, Vail Resorts' Specialty Sports Venture has raised funds for local charities over the holidays with its Adopt-A-Cause campaign. Throughout Eagle County, this year's campaign benefits Foresight Ski Guides, a local nonprofit committed to providing challenging snow sports opportunities to visually impaired and blind skiers. Kicking off at Thanksgiving, local SSV stores have raised more than $10,000, with the campaign stretching through Jan. 6. Vail Resorts Echo, the company's sustainability program, will match 50 cents for every dollar donated.

This year's Adopt-A-Cause campaign takes place in more than 165 SSV retail and rental stores from San Francisco to the Rocky Mountains, and benefits 20 organizations. SSV employees in each region selected a local charity to partner with and are rallying customers to support their cause when making purchases at the stores. Last year's Adopt-A-Cause campaign generated $213,253 with the VR Echo match for 17 organizations.

Customers can support Foresight Ski Guides and the SSV Adopt-A-Cause program at the following stores through Jan. 6:

• Beaver Creek Sports.

• Vail Sports.

• One Track Mind.

• The North Face.

• Patagonia.

• Burton.

• Marmot.

• Quicksilver.

• SmartWool.

• Icebreaker.

• Oakley.
