Los Angeles-based Love In the Circus has been going nationwide since its sexy sound — akin to Portishead, Groove Armada and Zero 7 — was featured in a recent HP/Sony commercial. Fronted by sultry lead singer and bass player Leanna Rachel and guitarist/producer Chris Brickler, this quintet is made up of relative newcomers, but has been making a splash at festivals across the U.S.. They perform at Agave in Avon tonight along with standout local musician Sean Healey.
"We planned to be dark the night before New Year's, but this band is so damn sexy we had to open the doors. No cover charge, just come out and catch a great new act on their way up," says promoter Crawford Byers of Rocky Mountain Entertainment. Call 970-748-8666.
