VAIL, Colorado - Jarrett Quint, Sonnenalp's head sommelier, has announced that two of the five Sonnenalp restaurants will now offer an electronic iPad wine list in addition to their printed wine lists.
The wine list features over 900 wines with four iPads in the Swiss Chalet and two in Ludwig's. Each iPad that replaces a paper list saves the Sonnenalp 800 pages of paper a year.
"The iPad program gives you the ability to narrow down choices by type of wine, price or brand," Quint said. "With our award-winning selection of wines we thought this would the perfect way to showcase our wine selection without overwhelming our guests with our 50 page wine list, which can be difficult to navigate based on the criteria that one may use to choose a wine."
"The best part is that we're able to update the list each time we add a new wine or have a small change-making it much more efficient," said Quint. "And for those who appreciate a hard copy wine list, we will still have those on hand; we're just happy to give customers a choice between the two."
This past year Ludwig's and Swiss Chalet were awarded Wine Spectator's 2012 "Best of Award of Excellence," receiving two of Vail's three certificates awarded. For more information visit www.sonnenalp.com.
