Free film screening at Avon Library

The public is invited to attend a free screening of the documentary film "Tapped" at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Avon Public Library. "Tapped" is an examination of the bottled water industry. The film hasn't been rated.

Is access to clean drinking water a basic human right, or a commodity that should be bought and sold like any other article of commerce? From the producers of "Who Killed the Electric Car" and "I.O.U.S.A.," this documentary is a behind-the-scenes look into the unregulated and unseen world of an industry that aims to privatize and sell back water.

From the plastic production to the ocean in which so many of these bottles end up, "Tapped" trails the path of the bottled water industry and the communities which were the unwitting chips on the table. A powerful portrait of the lives affected by the bottled water industry, this film features those caught at the intersection of big business and the public's right to water.

Now Showing @ EVLD offers free film screenings throughout the year. For a complete schedule of upcoming films, visit the Eagle Valley Library District's website at www.evld.org. All film screenings are free and open to the public. Films may not be appropriate for all audiences.
