In July 2012, the Sweetwater Valley encountered several flash floods that damaged property with all the gullies letting loose as well as the stream rising. Several neighbors got together and held a fund raiser to help those whose property was damaged.
Swift Eagle Charitable Foundation administered the funds and distributed them to the home owners who applied.
Chris Fedrizzi of Site Resource Management organized several excavating companies to give free help to homeowners who required assistance and were willing to wait until fall and winter to have the work done when the companies weren't busy.
Scott Green Excavating repaired some neighbors properties and loaned equipment to others so they could repair their own damage.
Chris Fedrizzi's company cleaned and repaired our hayfield, redug our buried irrigation ditches, cleaned out our pond and made other repairs.
JP Trucking (Jesus Ponce) transported the machines and equipment.
Gallegos Masonry came and hauled away over 550 tons of rock from our field.
We would like to publicly thank all of the above companies and businesses for their generosity. Sweetwater and all of Eagle County are wonderful places to live.
We have lived in Gilman, Lake Creek and Sweetwater since coming to Eagle County in 1973, and know how wonderful the people of this county and area are. Thank you to all.
