Thomas Jefferson said that if we wanted to know what the Constitution means, then study the spirit of the writers and the debates around it.
"A well-regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a Free State, the right of, the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed."
"I ask sir, what is the militia? It is the whole people, except for a few public officials." (George Mason during the constitutional debates.)
"What sir is the use of a militia? It is to prevent the establishment of a standing army, the bane of liberty." (Rep. Elbridge Gerry debating the Second Amendment, 1789.)
"To disarm the people is the best and most effectual way to enslave them." (George Mason during the constitutional debates.)
"Americans have the right and advantage of being armed, unlike the citizens of other countries whose governments are afraid to trust the people with arms." (James Madison, the Federalist Papers No. 46.)
Studies by Jews For The Preservation of Firearms and other groups shown that over 170 million people were murdered by their own governments in the 20th century, after their government passed what were called reasonable gun laws that disarmed their citizens.
The Jews For The Preservation of Firearms has hard evidence that the U.S. Gun Control Act of 1968 was patterned after the Nazi Weapons Law of 1938. Sen. Thomas J. Dodd, D-Conn., introduced the idea of the Nazi Weapons Law into a Senate Judiciary Subcommittee. In Germany the Gestapo enforced it. In the U.S. it is enforced by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
In Genesis 25:21-23, God says that children are people in their mother's womb. In Proverbs 6: 16-17, God says hands that shed innocent blood is an abomination. Abortion is the murder of babies, little people.
Our government has murdered 55.5 million people in the last 40 years. Our Constitution does not give our government the authority to murder people. The babies were murdered because they were not wanted. The governments that murdered their citizens in the 20th century did not want them.
Our government already murders people by the millions they do not want. What stops our government from murdering more of us they don't want? The Second Amendment.
"If cowardly and dishonorable men sometimes shoot unarmed men with army pistols or guns, the evil must be prevented by the penitentiary and gallows, and not by a general deprivation of a Constitutional privilege." (Arkansas Supreme Court 1878, concerning the state's constitutional right to keep and bear arms.)
