High Altitude Society: Snowflake Ball at Vista hits the mark

Kudos to co-chairs Janet Mueller El-Bitar and Emily Sack for getting the second-annual Snowflake Ball to support Battle Mountain High School athletics off the ground and running. This is a great new fundraiser for the Super Boosters, who raise money to provide a variety of benefits for student-athletes, such as uniforms, equipment, athletic trainers and training for coaches. Who can argue with a group that has the best intentions in mind for the young, strong kids who just want to play their sport but need a little help with travel expenses, summer camps and the like?

The parents of these students obviously care about their kiddos, as they showed up en force at the Vista at Arrowhead Restaurant on Saturday to rally for their troops. As usual in this town, any good excuse to get out of ski gear and don some lovelies is legitimate, and there were lots of sparkles and suits and ties to go around. Deb Robbins, whose sons played three sports a year, shared, "I know that my kids benefitted from the Super Boosters during their (Battle Mountain) high school career."

It is something on the horizon for many parents, but there may be a time and place for your star athlete to need a little boost. Thanks goes out to the community for helping in this endeavor.

Terri Martin was thrilled about the turnout, stating, "This event is only getting better. The organizers did a great job and brought in more people. They have a fun night nailed down for sure!"

The Fabulous Femmes had revelers dancing into the night. And, the snowflake theme would not be complete without the hard work and talent of trained set designer Emily Sack. A huge shout out goes to presenting sponsor U.S. Bank for making the event possible.
