Chicago comedy troupe returns to Vilar Center

BEAVER CREEK - One of America's famed comedy troupes, The Second City, is coming to the valley with its one-of-a-kind Laughing Matters Tour. Featuring some of the best sketches, songs and improvisations from its 54 year history, The Second City will be taking the stage at the Vilar Performing Arts Center in Beaver Creek on Feb. 5.

With economic uncertainty, political gridlock and a dearth of Kardashians clogging up our televisions, laughing has never mattered more, and The Second City is here to bring some well-needed silliness spontaneity to a world in need of some comic relief. The Laughing Matters Tour puts comedy first in a wickedly funny show that combines hilarious sketch comedy with with The Second City's trademark improvisation.

Since its debut in 1959, The Second City has celebrated more than 50 years of cutting edge revues and has consistently been a starting point for numerous award-winning comedians, actors and directors in show business.

The company continues to produce premier comic talent in the industry, launching the careers of Tina Fey, Steve Carell, Stephen Colbert, Gilda Radner and Bill Murray.
