VAIL - The Winter Mountain Games presented by Eddie Bauer return to Vail this weekend. The free entertainment kicks off Thursday night with Ana Sia and Kraddy at Checkpoint Charlie in Vail, starting at 7:30 p.m. One of the West Coast's most celebrated DJs, San Francisco Bay area-based Ana Sia is known for not only energizing the dance floor but consistently breaking new sounds from all over the world. Ana Sia has gone from rocking house parties to huge festivals such as Coachella, Lollapalooza, Detroit Electronic Music Festival, Electric Daisy Carnival and others by stylistically staying two steps ahead of the game. She will be joined tonight by Kraddy, a Los Angeles-based electronic-music producer known for bringing an undiluted sound of the underground to new audiences. From his work as a founding member of the infamous Glitch Mob to his groundbreaking solo work, Kraddy (born Matthew Kratz) has always been known for shattering genre conventions, while moving crowds everywhere from Red Rocks to L.A.'s famed Low End Theory club. Next up, Colorado band Flobots will hit the Checkpoint Charlie stage Friday at 7:30 p.m., and John Brown's Body performs Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. at Gold Peak. Both shows are free. Look for stories on each band later this week. For more on the Winter Mountain Games, visit www.mountaingames.com/winter.
